Bubble Word Jam is a surprisingly clever puzzle hybrid that manages to breathe new life into two very saturated genres on mobile. On paper, mixing a bubble shooter with a word game sounds a bit chaotic, but in execution, it is pure, casual fun. The gameplay loop forces you to think on two levels simultaneously: you aren't just looking for the easiest geometric shot to clear a cluster, you're looking for the exact letter you need to finish spelling a high-scoring word.
The presentation is incredibly bright, clean, and satisfying. The tactile feedback of popping a massive chain of bubbles, followed by the rapid-fire tapping to spell out words, provides an excellent dopamine rush. It starts very easy, but as special blocks and narrower shot counts get introduced, it genuinely tests your vocabulary and spatial planning. It's a fantastic pick-up-and-play title for short commutes or relaxing breaks.
Innovative gameplay loop blending arcade bubble shooting with word puzzles
Thousands of vibrant levels with increasing difficulty and layout variety
Powerful boosters and unique bubble types to keep matches fresh
Daily brain-training word challenges and rewarding global leaderboards
Stunning, cheerful graphics and snappy sound effects that enhance satisfaction
Look at the letters inside your bubble launcher and look at the target clusters above. Line up your shot to match colors and pop groups of three or more. When bubbles pop, their letters drop into your tray. Tap the dropped letters in the correct sequence to form valid words, which clears space and awards massive bonus point multipliers.
The gameplay tasks you with managing a limited number of shots to achieve target goals before the ceiling collapses. You'll encounter special blocker bubbles, like frozen or stone letters, which can only be cleared by completing words using adjacent letters. Utilizing power-ups like the Wildcard Fireball or Line Sight helps you navigate tricky layouts in late-stage levels.
Yes, the standard levels and core word puzzle mechanics can be fully enjoyed without an active internet connection.
Fun to play, but the daily puzzle for March 5th is broken. I got two bubbles filled with three words and one filled with two with no more words to add and the three bubbles don’t mix together. Can’t even waste my hints or magnet. Tried app support and like the other person I got the same thing. Maybe the link is wrong? Update: the daily puzzle problem is fixed. So far, having fun with this game and the bubbles are aesthetically pleasing.
I was loving this game. The graphics are cool, the puzzles are fun and not too challenging for the most part. I liked that even though you had to watch ads, you could get a decent chunk of coins every day (5 ads total for 1500 coins), plus regular free gifts of 50 coins throughout the day, which didn’t require watching an ad. As of literally this morning, that feature is now gone. You have to watch an ad for your “free gift” and no more 1500 coins per day. The ratio of coins spent to coins earned is ridiculous (600 for the lowest power up, 30 coins per level with the option of watching an ad to double it). But at least you could get power ups by watching ads, and until literally this morning, you could watch as many ads for power ups as you wanted. Now you only get one, and after that you have to spend coins. Sad to say I had to delete the game, as it’s now following the same money-grabbing formula as almost every other mobile puzzle game out there. Very disappointing.
I was really enjoying this fun and challenging game..I am no genius but far from stupid.. as I play on my iPad with my right hand, I literally hold my iPhone in my left hand to google so many hard words. But that’s been ok…it’s great in fact.. now for the cons: are there only 364 levels? Because my last 3 games were all the same level 364 and soo hard! Some of the categories in these higher levels were so bizarre that I can’t imagine even a genius could figure out, ha! I think the 5 moves we are granted, (AFTER we watch long, boring ads), when we run out of moves, should be upped to at least 7. Otherwise I’ve been loving this game. You guys have done a great job on it, thank you, but it needs to be tweaked a little
I have many word association games and this one blows them all away!!! It’s absolutely gorgeous and it’s so incredibly relaxing! No timers, and gorgeous to look at with its 3D Underwater dimensional platform. I love the bubbles and how they get bigger and bigger, then pop when you fill them up with words! Brilliant developer! I cant wait to check out the other games this developer has created:)) I literally cannot stop playing this game and I really have to go to bed! LOL!
I’m liking the game. In level 32, two circles had the letters “SPAW” and “ROW.” Those letters don’t spell a word. When I finally reached the point where I had no choices left, I put them together and the spelling changed to “SPARROW.” That IS a perfectly good word. You should correct the spelling on the circle that says “SPAW.” That’s very misleading.
I am on Level 132, and I like the game quite a bit. However, I am so tired of watching the same ads over and over. They are far too lengthy and boring. I just want to play and enjoy the game itself, and not be stuck watching advertisements. The number of points given for solving each level isn’t that big and I cannot afford to buy more coins. Isn’t there some way to shorten the length of ads, or to stop showing the same ads incessantly?
I will happily change my review to 5 stars if they’ll fix the horrible glitch. When I tried reaching out, the form asks you to specify which game you’re inquiring about, but this game isn’t in the list. I had to choose “general inquiry” instead so I may never hear from anyone. I am struggling with quirks/bugs in the game that freeze the screen, cause bubbles to shake rapidly while frozen, strobe light effect while frozen that make me nauseous. I cannot seem to finish the most recently attempted level because of it. I have screenshots and screen recordings of the bug to submit if they’ll fix get back to me. It’s not on my end and doesn’t happen in any other game or app. I have tried the following: soft-closing the app, with and without WiFi, restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Other than that, it’s fun… or was.
I really like this game it’s really fun! However, I’ve run into an issue with ads where an ad will pop up and then the screen will blackout when it does. I cannot continue the level I was on, so I restart the app and it sets me back up and that same level from the very beginning. I’ve been playing the same level for five different rounds. And it is getting old
