BOOMbastic Side Eye 😒

Okay, so BOOM has been one very addictive game for the last 2 weeks for me. It’s such a simple game where so many things can happen. The variety of maps, weapons, emotes, events, and power-ups keep things interesting. At least for now. I’m currently in Master and will probably hit the higher rank eventually. I appreciate the creators of the game for allowing me to watch videos for coins because the coins you receive from winning or waiting for opponents aren’t enough to get you anything 🙃 I give this game a 5/5 ⭐️ even though my phone won’t let me click the stars to rate it 🤦🏻‍♂️ If there was any suggestions I can make for the game to add, it would be this: -Try a 2v2 mode, where people are paired together on a team to play others on slightly bigger maps. -They can make a club or league you can make or join. It’s pretty much in every game now. You can join clubs to participate in certain events with, chat, and maybe even ask for items from others. That’s all I could think to add atm but for what the game is, it’s worth playing! But we all know over time if updates are not added, the game will become stale and boring.

Friggin love it!

I got the game just to try; looking for something I could play with my lady without passing the phone back and forth. We both LOVE it. It’s so easy to learn and each match takes like less than a minute (and always against a real person) so there isn’t any “I can’t pass this level might was well spend 2.99” The rewards are very generous, the animations are super cute, the “weapons” are diverse without being overwhelming and it’s low stress plus strategy while being relaxing

Great game, unending intrusive offers

Love the game, it’s very fun, easy to spend a long time playing or just hop in a couple quick matches. Gameplay is reminiscent of Worms. Fun, quick, competitive. The one thing that is SO bad that I’m probably going to uninstall the app over it is the never ending, unnecessary, very in your face interruptive offers for paid content. I understand you have every right to monetize your game. But to be unable to quickly hop into another match, emote, or do ANYTHING post match (or upon opening the app) because you have to wait for the offer to pop up first is infuriating. Especially when I selected no for the exact same offer multiple times in the last 3 minutes after every game. Get it together. Either allow offers to be toggled off or create a separate place to view them again after I’ve already said no once. Absolutely ruins the fun of the game.

Fun-ish

I kinda like this game, it’s fun at times. But it has a number of issues that make me want to come back less and less each time I play. The controls are just annoying. Moving your character is clunky. I often will just barely hit the corner of a ledge as I try to jump on it, and it causes me to fall in the lava/water and die instantly. Annoying. The game is free, but you can’t really compete in the Pro or later game matches unless you buy stuff. And the amount of weapons you get for your money is pretty lame. Not worth it. If you play in the Pro matches, you get matched with real people. If you play in the beginner matches, you’re usually playing against the CPU guised as a real person. Which is fine I guess but how about you just be honest about whether we’re playing online or playing a CPU? They’ll have names like “Guest3882” to try and fool you. Dumb. I’ve probably spent about $10 in this game after owning it for a few weeks. Not worth the money. If they add more match types or make it so you can play against friends, maybe it will be a decent game. They really need to change the way you move your character though. It causes me to stop playing pretty frequently. Clunky and annoying.

Unfortunate Dev Decisions

This game was a real gem. It had a simple format and each game was quick and fun and very rewarding to boot. The unfortunate decision to rebalance the rewards and shops, which were obviously made in the hopes players would opt to purchase coin packages, have ruined the game. The sudden change in the game currency availability/scarcity means that getting the various unique weapons and power-ups is much more difficult. I can’t understand why this decision was made. The game isn’t complex or populated enough to justify a push for in-app purchases rather than an increase in ads. Rather, this only serves to de-incentivize a game that was already not much more than a very well done ‘quick fix’. Sad to see you go in this direction, Dev. This game was really clean and well made.

Fun game, glitchy update

I’ve been playing daily for a while and it’s been very fun, like an expanded version of the Tank game in iOS Games. But, Since the update, it’s been glitchy, not receiving rewards for watching ads in the shop, happens several times a day. Sometimes it will play the ad and after give no reward and say no video available. Sometimes it will glitch during matches as well, and the only way out is closing the app and taking a loss. One more thing to add, I’ve been playing a while and gems are near impossible to get, but also, there needs to be more uses for them too. I’ve been sitting with like a single gem for weeks with no way to get more without swiping a card, not cool

Meh, pretty average overall.

It’s fine as a short time killer, really shouldn’t be used for anything beyond that. The game itself is extremely unbalanced, in high level play it’s essentially dominated by zero skill requirement boomerang meta. I’m shocked they haven’t put some serious nerfs on the boomerang by now given how easy it is to land and how much damage it deals(around 70% of your HP) so that alone takes a star away, I remove an additional star because the game itself is also a bit buggy with attacks frequently clipping through walls. Overall, could be a 5 out of 5 but a few sloppy issues makes it difficult to go beyond a 3.

Currency

I really enjoy this game, especially the dynamic combat and the exciting powers and exotic weaponry, however, these things are very hard to earn. The one complaint I have for this game is how difficult getting coins is, I understand gems being as hard as they are to earn, but coins are far too difficult. I would recommend increasing the coin reward for winning games, as that would make getting all of these fun and exciting ways of winning more accessible and easy. Anyways great game, love to see where you devs take it.
