- Maintenance updates and minor bug fixes
- Fixed incorrect selling prices for crafted items
Boba Tale is an exceptionally cozy shop management simulator that perfectly captures the 'lo-fi' aesthetic popular in modern casual gaming. You take over a small boba shop and must learn recipes, serve customers, and decorate your space to attract more visitors. From an expert perspective, the balance between the simplicity of the minigames and the depth of the shop upgrades is handled with great care.
The game stands out due to its charming hand-drawn art style and relaxing soundtrack. It’s a low-stress environment where your biggest concern is whether you have enough tapioca pearls or if you've unlocked the latest 'aesthetic' wallpaper. The progression is steady and rewarding, making it the perfect 'palate cleanser' game for when you want to unwind. It’s sweet, simple, and incredibly addictive for anyone who enjoys the 'wholesome games' movement.
Dozens of unlockable boba recipes
Extensive shop customization options
Adorable, hand-drawn character art
Relaxing, low-pressure gameplay
Pay close attention to the order of ingredients in the mixing minigame. Adding the ice and sugar at the exact level requested by the customer will grant a 'Perfect' rating and extra tips.
Invest your early earnings into the 'Recipe Research' board. Unlocking more expensive tea bases like Matcha or Taro early on will significantly increase your profit per customer.
The game features optional purchases for premium currency, but all items can be earned through regular play.
The Good: Very aesthetic games with nice cozy vibes. I feel like a lot of cozy games can be visually overwhelming (e.g., Animal Restaurant) or have super slow-paced game play (e.g., Good Pizza Great Pizza). I liked that this one allows me to get out my desire to play fast-paced restaurant games in a cozy atmosphere (you could also move slower and just make less money and there still wouldn’t be flashing red lights saying you are failing). I like the café decorations, very cute. The ads are also not too annoying, and certainly I appreciate that it’s not pay-to-play. The Bad: As others mentioned, there’s not a natural progression to the game. I think you do unlock more ingredients later so maybe I’ll get there but it seems like the types of items (two teas and three food items) don’t change or increase. Same thing with the time per level or the customer expectations. Also, I find some of the tea items difficult to tell apart (e.g., green vs brown tea, yellow stars vs yellow balls), especially when playing at night. There is also insufficient explanation regarding the game mechanics (e.g., that you can only throw away completed drinks). For the decorations, it is annoying that you have to pay separately for L/R decorations and that you can’t preview them. And for outdoor decorations, it seems like you have to buy ever single one in order. Overall, I am enjoying the game for now but think there are some easy changes that would make it excellent and more of a long-term play.
I honestly felt bad giving this game anything less than five stars. It is so incredibly rare nowadays to find quality free games that aren’t loaded with in app purchases. I can tell that this was a labor of love for the developer, and the charm of the game reminds me of Good Pizza Great Pizza before the developers totally sold out on the pay to play model… That being said, there truthfully isn’t much progression to the game. Everything is unlocked right from the start, and you tap instead of swiping and dragging ingredients, giving it less of an interactive feeling. Customers are extremely hard to upset, I haven’t seen one yet. There is little challenge or diversify to play. I think this could easily be resolved by forcing the player to unlock new ingredients, the ice cream machine, and the cookie machines before they can use them, and the more plentiful your menu, the more the items cost, giving a natural progression towards earning more money. More options would be appreciated, as of right now, there are only 2 teas and 6 boba/poppling options available. This means at most, there are 12 available order combinations, and the occasional customer that asks for ice. This is extremely detrimental for a restaurant management game, as there is a 1/12 chance that if I make a random boba, the customer will actually ask for it.
i got this game to play on a like road trip because it looked cute and easy to play. it is both those things, but it is also extremely repetitive. each “day” lasts sixty seconds on which you just have to make the costumers their boba until the timer runs out. the only other thing you can do in the game is buy upgrades with the money who make from the costumers, but the upgrades are extremely expensive for no reason and you really don’t make that much money each day. i suppose the higher level you are, the more toppings and tea bases you would unlock, but it also takes a while to level up bc you don’t get that much EXP no matter how fast you make the costumer’s order. but, honestly, i could look past these things bc i was just looking for a game that would entertain me for a short while and it did just that. however, what finally made me delete the game was that all my progress was randomly deleted when i didn’t go on the app for a few days, which was annoying. overall, it’s a fun game and would definitely keep an 5-6 year old entertained (im 17 so it was def not for my age range LMAOOOOO).
This game is an absolute gem! ✨ Boba Tale is not just a game, it is a cozy little escape that genuinely soothes your mind and pulls you into its adorable world. It has helped my anxiety so much, and I find myself opening it every single day just to relax and unwind. I have seen a lot of people talking about the game restarting after the update, and yes, that happened to me too. I actually had EVERYTHING unlocked before, so at first I was a little disappointed. But all it took was a bit of research, finding the creator’s email, and reaching out to them. They responded quickly, were super kind and understanding, and even gave me additional coins and gems to make up for it. That level of support really shows how much they care about their players. The update itself is amazing with more fun tasks, smoother gameplay, and best of all, you can finally buy coins AND diamonds which is something I have been waiting for forever. Unlocking new characters and ingredients feels even more satisfying now, and honestly, starting over ended up feeling like an exciting fresh start. If you love cute, calming, and addictive cozy games, you NEED this one. I am completely obsessed with Boba Tale, download it and thank me later! 💖
Hi. So I would like to start off by saying this game used to be fun. It was cute and fun and for someone who likes Boba Tea, it’s literally the best game, and that’s why it got 1 stars. But one day I opened it up again and the new update ruined everything😡😡. First of all, all of my progress from the old version was gone, and I spent a lot of time upgrading my shop. Now there are crystals that you use to pay for things. But here’s the thing. I could’ve gotten over all of my progress being erased, but my biggest problem is that I LITERALLY CAN’T EVEN PLAY THE GAME ANYMORE! Everytime I open the app and try to open the shop again, It doesn’t let me drag the ingredients to make the Boba. Please turn it back to normal and fix the glitch because I used to love this game but now I never play it anymore because I physically can’t. Edit: Hi. I’m really sorry for giving this a bad review because it turns out that the “glitch” wasn’t actually a problem. Instead of dragging the ingredients you just tap them. I do like the new version although I am still sad that all of my other progress was erased. (I gave you guys 4 stars instead of 1)
this game is so fun! And before anyone thinks “this is a bot!” dw I’m not a bot and I’m being like actually honest this game is so good like oml please get this game I love it and it’s so cute! and they’re like barely any ads and I love it it’s not loaded with in app purchases and ads every 2 seconds. This game is truly one of the best I have ever downloaded. You can even craft things and do this little adventure! This game is so cute and simple and it’s so peaceful too I truly do love this game and I hope you’ll get it. and a note to the developer, this game is awesome I love it and thank u for making it, and also I would like to add a recommendation, the game itself is very entertaining and yes I could play this for hours but at the same time at times it gets a little boring, it is an AMAZING game and I love it but if you added a story that would be really fun! like a lore to customers and things like that, like there could be a story option in settings and if you wanna do the story you turn that on, or if you don’t wanna do that just play the regular game, overall if you’re reading this, I hope you’ll get this game! it’s really fun :) 🫶
I love this game! The design is super cute and the music is nice, and it’s overall very enjoyable, something simple and fun to bide my time with. A lot of the reviews I’ve seen say that the game is redundant, that it gets boring after a while bc it the same thing over and over again. While I understand that that’s the point of the game- you just make boba, I’ve been feeling the same way as other ppl, too. While I don’t mind the boba making part that much, I really only wish that there were more to decorate. See, you make the boba to earn coins and diamonds. Eventually, the upgrades (which cost coins) get very expensive and take forever to afford. As for the diamonds, they really only buy decor, though you can only equip 2 tables, 2 hanging thingy’s, and 2 posters. What’s the point of buying everything else in the decor store if you can only use 2 of each thing at a time? I’d just like a *little* something else to do in the game than make boba, bc the decorating part is already over :/. Idk if you know what I mean, but I think there needs to be a little more to do, y’know?
I don’t know why some people are downing boba tale. The creator redid the entire game and added in amazing new features and items to earn. Since the game was redone you even get to start with an extremely high amount of coins and gems that you normally earn by playing. This helps you upgrade the game features right off the bat. Yes, the game is slow at first but that is because you have to level up in order for customers to come faster when ordering drinks or food. Furthermore your skill levels need to also level up in order for the game to go quicker, earn more money, and earn more XP. So, for everyone saying the game is too slow they didn’t give the game enough of a chance. Those people didn’t level up enough in the game to get to the more challenging and fun part. I also love that you can decorate your shop. You can also tell that the creator has more features or new additions coming soon since that is advertised on the cover page of the game and certain sections have a lock on it. I play this game daily and it is very addicting. I highly recommend this game.
