v1.8.5
Hey there, party pups and cool cats! This week, we're bringing you a fresh round of bug fixes and maintenance. Keep an eye on our socials for important updates and news.
CatLife is the feline follow-up to the viral BitLife, and it successfully brings that same chaotic, text-based storytelling to the animal kingdom. The game does a great job of capturing the diverse 'vibe' of being a cat—whether you're a pampered purebred or a scrappy street stray. The scenarios are often hilarious, sometimes gross, and always unpredictable.
I found the 'scent' mechanic to be a clever addition that differentiates it from BitLife, allowing you to track and interact with other animals based on their smell. The hierarchy system in households or shelters adds a layer of strategy to your social interactions. It’s a bit sillier and more bite-sized than the human version, making it a perfect casual time-killer for animal lovers who enjoy dark humor.
Dozens of cat breeds and life paths
Interactive scent-based social system
Dynamic household and shelter hierarchies
Hundreds of random, funny life events
Collect badges and complete unique challenges
If you're in a multi-pet household, use the 'Assert Dominance' action early to become the Alpha. This ensures you get first pick of treats and reduces the chance of other pets attacking you. Be careful with humans—being too aggressive can lead to being surrendered to a shelter.
Use the 'Scent' menu to keep track of everyone you meet. Smelling a person or animal reveals their personality and mood, which helps you decide whether to 'Nuzzle' them for a treat or 'Hiss' to keep them away.
CatLife is focused on cats, but the developer has a separate 'DogLife' app for dog lovers!
before I say anything, I just want to say that BitLife, CatLife, DogLife, and what’s more to come will be and already has blown me away. the developers are so talented and have good humor too- I don’t understand why people are so hard on this company. if you want an app that is endless with possibilities and a great sandbox, download BitLife, CatLife and DogLife. these developers are the best. the game overall is extremely fun and has numerous activities to grind on, like achievements and ribbons. it’s also really addicting and a good time killer that doesn’t drain your battery. there’s places where this game can improve but it’s mostly very small details. I would like events to come by ( even if it’s just every few weeks or months ) like BitLife, although I know there’s no motive to complete them- but hats and accessories would be a great addition and it’s possible. jobs would also be amazing even though that would be more of a thing for DogLife. It would be convenient to merge DogLife and CatLife together- and maybe add more animals so people don’t have to download both apps. the only other thing I would personally love would be being able to do something- anything with the cars and houses. the only purpose of them is the one achievement- “They See me Rollin”, which is to ride in a Rolls Royce. Maybe add activities that you could do to affect the houses and cars, like to scratch, climb on, etc. in conclusion, this is one of the best apps I’ve ever come across and I’m so glad I found this company.
These reviews are extremely critical for a developer who’s been super consistent. I won’t lie CatLife is a waste for the many reasons other reviews have listed. But the trend seems to be going against the developer as whole. I’ve been playing BitLife since it was first released and it’s crazy how quick and attentive the people who made the game were. I probably emailed about three different ideas and had them all in the game within a 4 month span. It’s slowed down now, which makes sense since you can practically do everything in BitLife. The developers of BitLife are the most in touch game makers I’ve ever come across. And I can’t be mad that they’re trying to make some money for their hard work. CatLife in my opinion was a flop, just felt unneeded and not so much my interest. But that definitely doesn’t change my opinion on the developers themselves. I can confidently say that they will continue to create and add fun things as well as listen to their fans, because they’ve already proven this the last couple years.
JESUS CHRIST, I just wasted 30 MINUTES of my FREAKING LIFE writing a very detailed review and good ideas for the BitLife devs, copied it, and accidentally copied something else… IM TRYING SO HARD NOT TO CUSS RIGHT NOW. Ok, ok… at least it wasn’t an hour… I’ll try and write the review AGAIN. THIS TIME MUCH SHORTER. So CatLife IS DogLife, just a few different options and more ads according to other people’s reviews. I got an idea long ago, called YandereLife. It might sound cringey, but YOU most likely didn’t just waste 30 minutes of your life, so hear me out. It’s basically BitLife and Yandere Simulator mixed together, but not the same story, characters, and other things specific to Yan Sim. If you haven’t hear of Yandere Simulator, or don’t know about it or something, please just go look it up. I don’t want to waste any more of my precious time explaining. So I’m YandereLife, you can be any gender, be born in any country, and become a yandere at at least 13 years old. And yes, you are required to be a yandere at at least some point in your life, I’m pretty sure the devs will find some way to push it. If they’re even reading this review right now, which I highly doubt, and I’ll most likely waste more time. Well, it’s worth a shot though. Now that I’ve got YandereLife out the way, let’s talk about HeroLife. It’s simple. Be born a human with powers in world where others have powers, choose to be a hero, villan, or civilian. I will end this review here, and goodbye.
First of all, any animal you fight with can just do multiple attacks like, 6, on you at any time, but the only time we can do more than one is when we gang up with someone in a fight. And we can’t choose our attacks. I also hate how literal big cats and extremely exotic animals can move on your street, it’s unrealistic. I get them escaping from the zoo but wouldn’t someone not notice a giant cat on the streets? I also think they are overpowered because most have max aggression or strength and won’t leave the street when your the alpha because of that.I prefer playing on the streets because you won’t get yelled at or euthanized for fighting but the way overpowered animals can move on your street ruins it. I also hate how half the game is ads and it trying to get us to buy top cat. And how you have to share the game just to escape? Every other thing is ads. I also hate how every animal in the game is aggressive in some way, I don’t think I’ve ever had a life without being brutally attacked for no reason. If you want to download this game to be a happy cat— there’s really no way to do that, but if you want it for fighting prepare to rage quit because of how ridiculously hard it is to win a fight. And I hate how EVERY AD IS A DATING SIMULATOR!!!!!
I’ve been playing all three versions of BitLife, and they’re a great time-killer when you’re bored, especially for those of us with a creative mind and knack for storytelling. This text-based game really satisfies my journalistic mindset, adding onto the fact that it captures another liking of mine- animals. Overall the game is fun, keeps me hooked and coming back for more. There’s just one thing that disappointed me and that’s the fact that the big cats are included, yet I never get to play as any. I get that the developers want to use mostly domestic animals, but what about the larger of the feline class? Lion, leopard, jaguar, mountain lion- all just side characters in this endless tale. I would be much happier if there was an option to play as one- even if it’s a randomly spawned life. The savannah cat is by far the closest thing to these wild cats, and even so, as someone who doesn’t pay to play, it’s very rare to spawn into the life of one. Whether you choose to add unlocking the big cats from completing certain achievements or whatnot, i’d be pleased if you included them in the game.
Hello! The first I will say is that this game is not too logical, but I do have a few suggestions that would I think would make the ga,e more interesting and seem less repetitive. 1. When burglars come, maybe one of the options can be like- get help (If there are other animals in the residence) because sometimes not only one cat or dog can attack somebody and make them go away, I was playing this about an hour ago and I mauled their throat, and THEY HIT ME WITH A FRYING PAN!! Then my owner yelled out me and sent me to a shelter, I think he would notice me LIMPING if I got hit in the thigh with a pan. Back to the logic, this game is not the most logical. Sometimes when you submit to other animals, the logic isn’t always too great, like you’d carry around an umbrella to protect them from the hot sun, etc. I get that that makes it a little more fun, but it’d be cool if it were more logical. I also wish there were more options to do like in BitLife, because I feel like it’s a little bit boring sometimes.
Before in BitLife I was completely fine with the amount of ads. Usually if a game has too many ads I stop playing, with BitLife whenever an ad popped up before I would think “oh wow it’s been awhile since the last ad ya sure I’ll watch this” but now I get an ad every like 6 actions. Sometimes the ads don’t load fully and I’m sitting there for a full minute waiting for a 10 second ad to load just so I can skip and close it. Because of the amount of ads I get overall it really discourages me from watching ads to do free actions like learn tricks. If there weren’t so many regular ads I would be much more likely to actually watch ads to do actions. Now onto the lag, because it takes so long to load an ad just to skip and close it, it makes my actions in the game happen about 5 seconds after I actually click on the action, I had to restart my phone earlier because I played maybe 20 minutes of the game. I used to LOVE BitLife but that one also started to have too many ads, even if I turned off my wifi and didn’t allow the app to access my data. I wish I could enjoy the game again without subpar games being shoved down my throat every 3 minutes.
This is a tiny bit scammy. It’s just DogLife, full stop. Only get one of the apps if you’re interested. I only downloaded to fulfill the challenge on BitLife, which brings we to my main concern. It’s been SUCH a long time since there was a major update to the main app, and it makes me upset that they’ve probably been putting all their effort into these apps (that are literally the exact same). It’s a bit of a slap in the face when you see the BitLife app icon change, so you get hopeful for a new major or even minor update, but instead it’s the “CatLife” challenge. With the effort they put into putting CatLife on the App Store, they could’ve even made DogLife into AnimalLife or PetLife and made reptiles or small mammals playable! But instead they made a cash cow decision and just reuploaded DogLife under a different name. I used to play BitLife CONSTANTLY. I got premium AND god mode. But now it’s getting repetitive because there aren’t any new updates! Not even minor ones! I get that coding and app making is hard, and I admire what you all do, but please, actually put thought into what your fans want. I hope the BitLife team sees this and takes what I wrote into consideration ❤️
