Another day, another chance to lead your army and vanquish your enemies!
New Features:
- Added Russian language
- Full screen support for new iPad Mini
Barbearian is an absolute adrenaline shot of an indie game. It takes the classic hack-and-slash formula and cranks the scale up to eleven, pitting you against hundreds of enemies at once in hand-drawn arenas. The combat feels punchy and visceral; there's a rhythmic quality to dashing through a mob, unleashing a whirlwind attack, and seeing the screen explode with vibrant colors and loot.
What sets it apart from other dungeon crawlers is the 'minion' system. Rescuing prisoners who then follow you into battle turns the game from a solo survival challenge into a chaotic squad-based war. The difficulty curve is perfectly tuned—it starts off manageable but quickly requires genuine strategy and character builds to overcome the massive boss encounters. It’s a loud, proud, and beautifully crafted action game that demands your attention.
100+ levels of intense action
Massive boss encounters
Build your own squad of followers
High-quality hand-drawn visuals
Stay mobile to avoid being surrounded. Use your dash to break through enemy lines and unleash your special attacks when the meter is full to clear large groups at once.
Between levels, visit the hub to upgrade your health and damage. Rescuing 'minions' during levels is vital, as they provide fire support and distractions during boss fights.
Yes, Barbearian has full MFi controller support for a better console-like experience.
I decided to get Barbearian a few days ago. It’s an awesome game to play and it addicts you. I also love the fact that you get to build your own army. Yes, it’s hard. But so far I’ve been able to beat everything, mostly I just have to go back to old levels and get more soldiers or earn enough money to buy more stuff. Every level has new enemies that you have to choose a new strategy for. You also get tons of abilities and weapons. So far I’ve played about five hours in, and I can contradict some people’s reviews. The guy who said the thumb holds are tiny must have massive thumbs because the hand holds are made more for an adult man than a little girl. Someone said that it costs too much when you die, yes it’s annoying but he only takes 1/3 of your money, which is easy to recover from. To recover health it does cost money, but it’s cheap. Overall I rate Barbearian 5 stars. It was worth $9.
First of all the name was such a good idea like Barbearian! Wow the trailer for this game blew my mind up the hardcore playing, the juking, the upgrades and the the thought of that you shouldn’t give up no matter how triggered you can get wanted me to get the game so bad. So right as the game came out I downloaded it and started playing it I was stunned on how good the animations of all the minions, the water, the landscape, and how good the gameplay was and how hard it is. Here I would think this game as like dark souls very hard to play but very rewarding when you beat the boss or enemies. By the time of this review I am already 41% done with the game cause of how addicting and fun to play this game is(no change in gameplay). I highly recommend this game even though it’s price may be a little hefty. 🙄😬😪 😀😀😀😀 EDIT (Also great game on the last boss I tried to kill him lol gimbill or gimmbill I don’t know but great game got 100 % finally)
Gaming press take note- Barbearian is among the finest iOS games ever released. It takes the simple hack and slash premise to new heights with engaging levels, a well thought through progression system and epic boss battles. One of the best parts of the gameplay is that as you progress, you build up your own army of 70 something soldiers that fight alongside you. Managing, replenishing and upgrading your army is immensely satisfying. I played this game for something like 12 hours straight until I finally 100% it. None of the rewards or gives feel cheap- if you put in the time the game rewards you appropriately. This is a game made with heart- I hope this game sells 5 million copies and that we see more from its creator soon. Lastly, the protagonist is not a bear- it’s a dude wearing a bear hat. A lot if the reviews out there have gotten that wrong.
The Barbearian definitely quenches my thirst for action! It does so by combining hack ‘n’ slash action with tactical strategy on an epic scale. Rescuing teammates is a nice feature and upgrading them can give you a strategic advantage. Shops around the forest can also provide pick me ups like that sweet machine gun...so save those slices! My favorite thing about the game is how the action seems to be governed by strategy. For example: if you run straight into hordes with your knights & archers, you will undoubtedly die. However, I have had some incredible comebacks from near death in games by using archers and flanking. Graphics, arcade music, gameplay, the amount of content, and the fact that this is a premium game makes me very happy! It’s what I’ve always wanted. Thank you!!
This game is fun in a chaotic way. It’s a game that you can pick up for just a few minutes or you can play hours on end. You can feel how much fun the developers had when they were making the game because of the way they designed each levels with all the hidden gems and interactive objects (cor just chopping down trees for fun). The weapons are super fun in the game and all you have to do is to smash your buttons and destroy the enemies. This game is not super difficult as long as you watch your health from time to time. There is also healing station on every level. You can make the game more difficult by baiting all enemies to you at once. It’s not a cheap game at 8.99 but personally I find it very enjoyable.
I love a good hack and slash and this is among the best on the App Store. Very, very satisfying to mow down hordes of enemies either alone or with your army. Kudos on this beautiful, fun, and addicting game. It’s gonna be staying on my phone. That said, will someone help me? I can’t find the last weapon anywhere! I’m fully maxed out on everything (72 soldiers and full spirit and health). I can’t finish Master Class as a result. Also, I can’t make a dent on the final boss. What am I missing?!
Ok there is a definite need for revive potions to use in game because when you get the the 3rd map on each of the trials it’s incredibly frustrating to die and have to start all the way over especially after losing 30% of your total earnings not to mention the randomization of the map and being forced to leave the map and continue before you’ve rescued the villager I like this game a lot but being forced into the next level and having to start over after dying are the most annoying and rage inducing parts of this game and it makes me not really want to play it anymore I hope this review is helpful but for the love of all that is holy either add a revive potion or don’t start all the way over after dying
The game seems like it would be a lot of fun and most likely would be if for a few tweaks that really, at least to me, rob the game. 1. I have average-sized thumbs and the controls are rather small. i will attempt to go ‘down’ and the character goes up, if they move at all. Honestly the ‘prints’ look like they were destined for a little girl. 2. When you die, you lose all your progress and 1/3 of you cash. To me it should be one or the other. 3. Really haven’t seen anything that let’s you quit a realm. Which means you have to play through, even if it is an accident. Which also might mean that you may lose cash of the level is hard. 4. The game is a challenge, which is awesome, but at the same time there are so many small enemies, and with controls not seeming to work all the time, you die rather quickly. 5. Lastly. The game does not seem like it is worth that much money yet. I will try and attempt to keep playing, but I can not recommend this game at this time. But will most happy to change my opinion when i can see some improvement!
