Helloooo Plant Lovers!
Spring has arrived, and so has the first real update to Art of Flora. Here's what's new:
- Added missing localisations in French and Spanish
- Fixed a few typos and links — thanks Julian and Rob for making me aware!
I also added five new app icons:
- An Orchid for Luna and her grandma
- Carnations for Matylda & Raul
- A Ginkgo for Teddy
- A Magnolia for James
- A Sunflower for Emily
Hope you all enjoy Art of Flora!
And please, take a minute to leave a review on the App Store. It helps a lot with getting found by others, especially this early on.
Art of Flora is a breath of fresh air for jigsaw enthusiasts. The move from generic landscape photos to hand-painted botanical illustrations makes every piece feel like a work of art. The jigsaw mechanic itself is very well implemented; pieces snap together with a satisfying click, and the UI for sorting edges and interior pieces is incredibly clean.
What I loved most was the 'Cozy' aspect. The game includes a collection of lo-fi and nature-themed soundscapes that perfectly complement the floral theme. Finishing a puzzle isn't just a win; it's a moment of completion where the art comes to life with subtle animations. It’s a premium experience that respects the player's time and provides a truly artistic outlet on a mobile device.

Since the art is botanical, pieces are often grouped by petal color. Use the 'Tray' feature to sort all 'Yellow' or 'Green' pieces together before you start assembly.
Once a puzzle is finished, tap the 'Bloom' button. This triggers a short animation where the flower you built 'grows' across the screen, revealing hidden details.
Yes, you can mute the in-game audio and listen to your own playlists while you solve puzzles.
It’s one thing to see the high-quality artwork in a pleasant, relaxing journey as you solve each puzzle, but if you are someone who appreciates not only the beautiful Art of Flora illustrations, then you will appreciate of this app as well. Every element of the design uses with class and I say that with a grin because I know it sounds rather sappy. They’ve taken everything into account, from the different themes, the colors, the fonts, even fonts for dyslexic and other disabilities. There is a lot of heart and soul that obviously went into this app to make it stunningly beautiful as well as thoughtful. Take this journey, you won’t be sorry.
Just like his Art of Fauna puzzles the Art of Flora is spectacular. It’s only been out for a couple of weeks and I have to control the urge to just go through them all (at the hardest settings). The artwork is beautiful and the descriptions are informative and educational as are the pictures and history of the artists who did them. I hope like the Art of Fauna he continues to add more puzzles over time. If I could give more stars I would. Thanks, Capt.C.
I love the app. But that’s the issue. I understand the developers need to make money. But come on now. You only give like 10 plant puzzles for free and that’s it. You’re done. You can delete the app if you don’t want to spend any money. There is no way to earn tokens or watch an ad to get more puzzles. They draw you in and get you hooked and then they spring the trap. Unless you want to pay for more puzzles, then skip this app. If you want to get hooked to where you’re paying for every 10 puzzles, that can be completed in less than 20 minutes then this is your app. If not….keep looking. Thanks for the 10 plant puzzles at least. lol
My only gripe is that sometimes just moving a big piece almost solves the puzzle for you. Other than that, I played the first 10 demo levels and this was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. I adore the purpose of the app and the puzzles are fun, a fun sort of frustrating at a higher difficulty but this new way to do them is fun!
As both a gardener and fan of Art of Fauna, I was thrilled to hear that Art of Flora was set to be released and it doesn’t disappoint! I absolutely love the new sound effects, the regional maps, and the blurbs about the artists too! As a huge moss nerd I’d highly recommend adding some of Richard Spruce and Frances Tripp’s work. Thank you for your hard work on another amazing game!!!
It’s a very happy marriage between science and vocabulary. It also has an element of art, but I cannot speak to that. However, if you want to learn about plants, and you want to learn how sentences fit together, this program is all of that.
I love the information that you get read as you finish the puzzles. The artist and their journey and the origin of the plant. I feel like I’m learning so much while enjoying art and puzzles.
I was hoping to play this on my 13" iPad but the game only displays in portrait mode which is a non-starter for me since it's awkward and precarious to prop up my iPad in portrait display. To be fair, I only took off two stars in hopes that the developer might upgrade the app so I can play it. Here's hoping and I'll likely post a real review if the dev can make this change...
