6 Takes! (also known as '6 nimmt!') is a brilliant digital adaptation of the classic German card game. It’s essentially a game of 'reverse luck'—you want to avoid picking up cards at all costs. The rules are simple enough to learn in five minutes, but the strategy is deep. Trying to predict what cards your opponents will play so you don't end up being the one to place the 6th card in a row is wonderfully stressful.
The app handles the 'simultaneous play' perfectly, making games feel quick and snappy. The AI is surprisingly competent, but playing against real people online is where the real mind games happen. It’s a perfect 'coffee break' game—short, strategic, and high-stakes. If you’re a fan of board games or card games that reward clever planning and a bit of risk-taking, this is a must-have for your collection. It’s simple, clean, and endlessly replayable.
Official licensed version of '6 nimmt!'
Single-player mode against varied AI levels
Local multiplayer 'Pass and Play' mode
Includes both Classic and Professional rule sets
Multilingual support and clear tutorial for beginners
In 6 Takes!, playing a very low card can be a life-saver or a disaster. If your card is lower than the last card in all four rows, you get to choose which row to take. Use this strategically to clear a row with very few bullheads before it gets filled up by other players. Always try to stay in the middle of the pack—being too aggressive with high cards often leads to taking a full row of 5 cards.
The app includes both the 'Classic' and 'Professional' rules. In Professional mode, you know which cards are in play, which adds a massive layer of card-counting strategy. You can play solo against up to 3 AI opponents with different difficulty settings, or use the 'Pass and Play' mode for local fun with friends. The clean interface ensures you can always see the bullhead count in every row.
This version focuses on high-quality single-player AI and local 'Pass and Play' multiplayer for a great tabletop-style experience.
So glad I discovered this game! Solo play against AI works very well. This game is clever: just light enough to be relaxing, just strategic enough to be a fun challenge. It’s the perfect game to play when you have a few minutes, and you want to keep playing another round. I also appreciate the fair price and no ads. It’s good on battery too, and I’m so glad you can play in portrait mode, that’s always my preference. Thank you developers for doing this right! I love it!
This app is a good digital version of a fun card game. It works exactly as I expected it to, no problems so far.
I am enjoying this app. I like the card game and it’s nice to be able to play it on my phone. There are some quirky things in the UI (always starts in landscape mode, doesn’t show the current scores in portrait mode) and I wish it had online play.
Super fun, but is there a way to expand the screen to better see the numbers? Really hard to see on a phone.
This is a great simple card game and this app is great. Makes it even faster to play.
An Excellent and faithful rendition of this classic card game.
Great implementation of card game. But without multiple device support unplayable.
6 Takes! (or 6 Nimmt! as it is originally named) is a great card game. The app is a good implementation - easy to use, decent tutorial, the AI seems ok. But this is the kind of game that absolutely needs online multiplayer and it doesn't have it. Please please please implement this feature as soon as possible. It's not really a solitaire kind of game - it's a social quick game you play with friends. This app desperately needs online play. Another small nit - it'd be nice to be able to turn off or speed up the animations.
